The International Congress and Convention Association ICCA made the 2012 rating of the world's major cities that host important international events. In that rating St. Petersburg raised by 15 points and now occupies the 64th place in the world.
In 2012 St. Petersburg hosted 38 international congress events, 12 more than in 2011. For comparison, in Moscow, placed at the 73 spot, during the same period took place 32 major events.
Leadership in the rating retained Vienna (195 events), Paris (181), Berlin (172) Madrid (164) and Barcelona (154).
Russia in the ICCA rating climbed one spot and is now located at 39 place.
